Supermodel Carolyn Murphy brings French-farmhouse living to Los Angeles.
"It all started with the lavender garden around the Jacuzzi," says Carolyn Murphy, standing barefoot in her French farmhouse-style kitchen and looking out at her modest Provence-by-the-Pacific backyard in a quiet Los Angeles neighborhood fifteen minutes from the beach. Near verdant lemon trees, chicken pace their coop while Murphy's chocolate Labrador retriever, Rupert, sniffs the vegetable patch where her rabbit has been enjoying the kale. ...May 12-14th marks the annual Los Angeles Design Quarter "Legends" event which celebrates style and design. There's lots of free lectures and fun cocktail parties but the real excitement is always reserved for the spectacular windows created by prominent designers in honor of legendary artists.

A Modern House with a Feel for the Outdoors for Actor Rob Morrow and His Wife, Debbon Ayer, in L.A.
He’s played a big-city doctor transplanted to Alaska (Joel Fleischman, in the television series "Northern Exposure") and an FBI agent stationed in Los Angeles (Don Eppes, in "Numb3rs"). Then he began impersonating a New York City defense attorney (Jimmy Brogan, in the ABC legal drama "The Whole Truth"). Long before he dropped out of high school to pursue an acting career, however, Rob Morrow had another role in mind for himself: "As a kid I always wanted to be an architect," says the actor. "I used to draw—not well or anything—these kind of quasi-house plans. I always had this fantasy of a kind of horseshoe [structure] overlooking the ocean with a pool in the middle."
